Healthy Habits for Life
Real change doesn’t happen quickly; it involves a gradual transition from old habits into newer healthier ones.
Part of what makes my “Healthy Transitions” approach so effective is that we work together over time to make small changes that add up to big results.
This means that you get the support you need to make the changes you desire. Taking a slow approach allows you to grasp the concept of healthy choices that last a lifetime.

"In my adult life I have always tried to maintain my exercise and eat healthy. I have also spent a lot of time reading books and newsletters on nutrition. Yet, I still had lots of questions and did not have a real road map, a condensed and straightforward approach to improve and even simplify my health and nutrition goals. At this stage of my life, those goals include using smarter and better nutrition to stay pain free, promote weight management, and to simply feel good.
I met Frances Holmes at the Pelo Fitness studio in San Rafael. I was participating in Pelo's Re-Set Program, a nutritional road map that was easy to follow and smart. Frances was the instructor and counselor. I have now been following Frances' guidance and suggestions, reading and re-reading the handouts. I now have more energy and far less knee pain from age-related arthritis. I’ve reached my goal weight, and I feel great. Actually more than great.
I have a background in public health, and I’ve interacted with a lot of people who don’t ‘walk their talk.’ So here’s what I really admire about Frances. She sets a great example for me and the rest of our Re-Set group. She’s a wonderful mentor and a gifted listener. She’s able to take relatively complex nutritional information, simplify it and help me and the other students incorporate it into our daily lives. And she does all this without judgment. Has Frances’ Pelo Re-Set Program promoted my wellness? You bet!”
